Copywriting

I found copywriting in June of 2013.  I'm still amazed that I knew nothing of this profession until then.

It started with an email from American Writers and Artists, Inc. (AWAI).

I assume they got my contact info from the list from Writer's Digest, or another writer's group I was in for my novel writing.

However it came, I'm grateful.

You certainly don't need to pay for a course to learn the techniques and trade of copywriting.  I know people doing just fine for themselves who learned it on their own, through free resources.

But this is my story.  And I started with the AWAI "Accelerated Copywriting" course.

I like structured courses.  So if you do too, and have the money to spend on them, AWAI has a TON of great courses.

So anyway, I took their course (all online, in my own time) over the summer of 2013.

I felt like a whole new world had been opened to me.

I spent the next 6 months learning copywriting.  Different techniques. Different avenues.

Reading and learning.

Don't be afraid to spend time learning.

I know people who stay in their current line of work, or on their current path, just because they're already on it.

Even though they're not happy, they don't want to spend the time looking into something new and different.

Take the time.

If you hear of or see a new opportunity, that you may know nothing about... Check it out!

It may just be the perfect path for you.
