I decided to create this blog because it's what I wished I had a couple years ago when I decided to "be a writer" full-time.
I love reading other people's stories. I enjoy seeing how other people "made it." I like learning from others' successes and missed opportunities (aka failures, though I'm reticent to use that word).
A few months ago I finally found one blog that detailed one writer's journey to increasing her income. I ate it up. I wished there were more blogs like that out there. If there are, I didn't find them. So I decided to write my own, with the intent to give other writers, aspiring writers, and anyone interested, what I wished I had.
This blog is a completely honest, open, and transparent account of my journey. It's not always pretty. Some things may be embarrassing. My path has been full of ups and downs, starts and stops, and misdirections. I share them all.
And it's still going. I'm far from "there." In fact, I'm still in the beginnings of "making it" as a writer. A lot is still to be determined. But that's the best time to start! "Now" is always the best time to start.
In our world today it seems that many people want to put their best face forward. They want everyone to see them as successful, having it all together. But no one has a completely smooth journey. My intention behind this blog is to be real.
Share my lessons from one person to another.
I hope you enjoy this blog. I hope you learn from me. I hope you're able to make the leap to "being a writer" with a little more information than I had going into it.
If you ever have any questions on anything I say, feel free to shoot me an email! I'm happy to share my story with you.
Or if you'd just like to share your story, please do so! The comments section is open to you.
To your success and mine... as we travel down this road as writers.
Sarah
